Peter Boyle, Socialist Alliance member and Green Left journalist, will be moderating this discussion on BRICS and Socialism: Solidarities and possibilities in the Global South hosted by Perspectives: A Researchers Network and featuring Vijay Prashad, Executive Director of Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research.

The session will assess the relevance of BRICS in discussions around challenging US imperialism.

Many BRICS countries are ruled by reactionary, authoritarian, even fascist regimes, lacking any serious initiative in challenging the global framework of capitalism. Should socialist and progressive forces in these countries abandon any expectation from the project? Or is there a possibility of greater coordination between the working classes in these countries?
