Join Queensland Teachers Fightback at the Queensland Teachers’ Union (QTU) rally for improved conditions in our new agreement! When: 5pm Tuesday 24th June Where: Parliament House, George st, Brisbane CBD We’re currently negotiating for a new agreement, and the Crisafulli government has come out saying that teachers can expect only 8% over the next three years, and has said that all government departments have a spending cap. Given that teachers have suffered a 6.5% wage cut in the last three years due to inflation, we need way more to recognise the hard work teachers do every day in schools. We are also in a workload crisis borne of the ever-increasing expectations of our job, with no time to do it in. Teachers are leaving the profession in droves and we need genuine improvements to stem the flow, keep good, passionate educators in the classroom and protect us all from burning out. Teachers, bring your colleagues, your placards, and your anger! And everyone else, come along and support your public school teachers!
