PERTH: JOIN OUR SNAP RALLY TO DEMAND JUSTICE AND ACTION. RSVP LINK IN BIO.
Cleveland’s death must mark the end of a system that harms children instead of protecting them.
In the wake of the recent coronial findings, our community is rallying together to demand the WA Government urgently close Unit 18. Continuing to detain children in Unit 18 is indefensible, and together, we can ensure this never happens to another child again.

Close Unit 18 Now! Snap Rally
In the wake of the coronial finding that 16 year old Cleveland Dodd’s death in youth detention was predictable and preventable, our community is rallying together to demand justice and action.
Amnesty International Australia and our allies ask the WA Premier and Minister for Corrective Services Paul Papalia to act on the coronial findings – including immediately closing Unit 18 and for the children incarcerated in the facility to be transferred into treatment programs that prioritise healthcare, rehabilitation and connection to community.
“Cleveland’s death was not an accident. It was the direct result of a system that inflicts extreme and unlawful harm on children in its care,”
Kacey Teerman, Amnesty Australia’s Indigenous Rights Campaigner
Join our community for a snap rally in the courtyard out the front of the David Malcolm Justice Centre on Monday 22 December 12-1pm.
