All this will be after the trans rights rally in the city (I’ll probably be leaving that around 2:30pm and getting the 86 tram up to Fitzroy if anyone wants to join me for a whole day of activism on the 26th!)
At the SPHC meeting we will be discussing with residents of the towers plans to stop the government from demolishing their homes
The event link for the RAHU letter writing workshop is in my bio
Here is the details for the letter writing workshop written by someone else in RAHU –
Masks & refreshments provided – Please RSVP as space is limited – bring a laptop if required, only paper will be provided.
The Victorian government is pushing forward with plans to demolish all 44 public housing towers, displacing thousands of residents and effectively selling off vital public land to private developers. This is a crisis. Once these homes are gone, they won’t be replaced – just lost forever, along with the communities they house.
We’re standing with public housing residents in their fight to save their homes. Join us for a letter-writing workshop where we’ll demand the government and Homes Victoria halt the demolitions and invest in real public housing, maintenance, and repairs, not profit-driven redevelopment.
We’ll help you craft a strong letter – no experience needed! We will offer to send letters on your behalf to save you time.
Masks & snacks provided – come in solidarity.
Every letter adds pressure – politicians and Homes Victoria need to hear our voices.
Connect with activists – as campaigns continue to grow around Public Housing we need more people than ever to be educated and involved.
Public housing is a lifeline. The government is gambling with people’s homes and futures—we can’t let them get away with it. Bring your friends, your passion, and your commitment to justice.
No demolitions. No displacement. Homes for people, not profit!
