SUMMARY:Cultural Dissent Movie Night: "Corals' Last Stand"
DESCRIPTION:About\n\n\n\nScott Reef\, an ancient coral atoll 300km off the Australian mainland\, is home to over 1\,200 species\, including endangered sea snakes\, green turtles\, and rare cetaceans that rely on its krill-rich waters.However\, this unique ecosystem is under threat as Woodside and its partners plan to drill 50 oil and gas wells in the surrounding waters\, arguing the project will aid decarbonisation—an assertion conservationists strongly dispute. Corals’ Last Stand\, a half-hour documentary featuring Tim Winton and John Butler\, explores the potential destruction of Scott Reef and questions whether Australia can afford to risk such an irreplaceable environment for fossil fuel extraction. This screening of Corals’ Last Stand is presented by Cultural Dissent and the Boorloo Activist Centre. The presentation of the film will be followed by a panel featuring film-maker Jane Hammond and activists involved in fighting for the environment in the Kimberley. \n\n\n\nDate\n\n\n\nSaturday 28 June 2025 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM (UTC+08)

SUMMARY:Stop Bombing Iran\, Stop Annihilating Gaza\, Sanction Israel Now!
DESCRIPTION:Event Listing\n\n\n\nFriday 20th June 2025 – Forrest Place – 5pm \n\n\n\nEvent by Friends of Palestine WA \n\n\n\nIsrael’s crimes in Gaza continue to mount. Since the “Gaza Humanitarian Fund” – a shady US-Israeli military outfit – started operations on 27th May\, at least 274 Palestinians have been killed and more than 2\,000 wounded\, lured to a handful of aid distribution sites by hunger. The new aid distribution regime has been condemned by the UN and its distribution hubs described as “execution sites” by one Al Jazeera journalist. \n\n\n\nFacing ever increasing protest globally\, Israel’s far right government has once again chosen the path of escalation\, initiating a war on Iran. This has nothing to do with any threat posed by Iran’s nuclear program and everything to do with distracting attention from Israel’s never-ending genocidal war on Palestinians. \n\n\n\nMeanwhile\, the sanctions sanctions imposed by the governments of Australian\, Canada\, the UK\, Norway and New Zealand on Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir are a thoroughly ineffectual response: two men are being punished for their spiteful words\, while the state of Israel gets off scott free. Sanctions must be directed at the entire Israeli government\, the military officers and the bureaucrats who are carrying out the slaughter in Gaza. \n\n\n\nWe call on the Australian government to impose diplomatic and trades sanctions\, and a two-way arms embargo on Israel now! \n\n\n\nFollow the Fb event here to stay up to date:https://www.facebook.com/events/1077817304258781 \n\n\n\nInstagram Listing\n\n\n\n\n View this post on Instagram A post shared by Unionists for Palestine WA (@unionistsforpalestinewa)

SUMMARY:Vote for Humanity: Panel Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Event by Friends of Palestine WA\, Muslim Votes Matter and Jews for Palestine WA\n \nA Vote for Humanity Public Meeting is being held at Fremantle Town Hall on Wed 30 April 2025.\n \nAll candidates contesting the seat of Fremantle will be issued an invitation to communicate their views and policies in relation to Israel’s genocidal war on Palestine.\n \nFor many supporters of peace and justice\, this will be a key issue in determining where they place their vote.\n \nThese meetings are being held around the nation in the lead up to the federal election. The initiative comes from Emeritus Professor Stuart Rees at the Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Sydney. Awarded an Order of Australia in 2005 for his services to international relations and the Jerusalem Peace Prize in 2018\, Stuart’s work in campaigning for peace and justice is legendary.\n \nIn addition to candidates\, the panel will include Naser Alziyadat (Muslim Votes Matter)\, Janet Parker (Jews for Palestine) and Ayman Qwaider\, a Palestinian community member who has family in Gaza.\n \nThe meeting will not seek to endorse one or other candidate\, rather allow discussion\, debate and questions on this topic. A short video has also been prepared by Australians for Humanity to be screened at all meetings.\n\nInformation and merchandise stalls will be present on the night to advise what you can do beyond the election.

SUMMARY:End Israeli War Crimes – Protest
DESCRIPTION:Israel’s far-right Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has declared that Israel will continue the total blockade of aid entering the Gaza Strip. \n\n\n\n“Not even a grain of wheat will enter Gaza\,” he said\, speaking at Yedioth Ahronoth’s People of Israel Conference. \n\n\n\nOn 2 March\, before breaking the ceasefire in Gaza\, Israel closed all of Gaza’s border crossings\, preventing much-needed humanitarian aid entering Gaza. \n\n\n\nSince resuming its genocidal war on Gaza\, on 18 March\, Israel has killed over 1\,400 Palestinians and wounded over 3\,600\, according to the Palestinian health ministry. \n\n\n\nIsraeli PM Netanyahu and his right wing allies are determined to completely destroy Gaza as a step towards implementing US President Donald Trump’s mass expulsion plan for the territory. \n\n\n\nWe must not let them! \n\n\n\nJoin our protest to demand the Australian government impose sanctions and a two way arms embargo on Israel\, and call for other countries to do the same. \n\n\n\nFollow the FB event here:https://www.facebook.com/events/2131894360594166
