The NT government has blocked access to essential healthcare for trans youth – just days before Christmas.
This devastating decision ignores medical evidence, expert consensus and the wishes of families who just want their children to be able to grow up happy and healthy.
NT Health Minister Steve Edgington made the announcement on Sunday, saying the government would cease public health access to puberty blockers and gender-affirming hormones for people under the age of 18.
